As part of our risk management program, Roy Anderson Corp evaluates subcontractors prior to being awarded a subcontract. In order for us to evaluate each company, subcontractors are asked to provide information by completing a confidential Qualification Questionnaire and returning it to our office at their earliest opportunity.
This pre-qualification is also used to enroll subcontractors is our Subguard program. A key element of the Subguard program is to assist qualified subcontractors in meeting the bonding requirements of Roy Anderson Corp’s Subcontract Agreement. Subguard is a self-insurance program for qualifying subcontractors that provide labor and have contracts over a certain value ($80,000 minimum). Qualified subcontractors become insured for payment and performance through Subguard, as opposed to providing their own bond. Roy Anderson Corp’s goal is to have all qualified subcontractors enrolled in the Subguard program. This is a benefit to both the subcontractor and Roy Anderson Corp.
If approved for this program it will alleviate the necessity of the subcontractor providing bonds on current and future projects with our company, thus reducing costs. Should they not be approved for this program the subcontractor must then secure a performance bond or waiver, if so required.
It is imperative that this Questionnaire be completed and returned to Roy Anderson Corp as soon as possible. The approval process must be complete prior to beginning work on a project.
If you have any questions regarding any aspect of risk management, please contact either Robert Vollenweider or Jennifer D’Aquilla.
